How should I take care of my new tattoo?Everyone has their own methods, especially tattoo advocates. However, we recommend aquaphor for 2-3 days for 2-3 times a day after cleaning with water and unscented soap (dial, dove, irish spring; just no fragrances). Afterwards, swap to unscented hand lotion for the remainder of the healing phase, which is roughly 2 months. Avoid activities that may jepordize the integrity of your tattoo, such as swimming, going to the gym, and other things that might expose your tattoo to an infection. Remember, it is an open wound, its important to treat it as such. If you have any questions or concerns however, communicate with your artist. If you were given an adhesive bandage, you may keep the bandage on for the first 24-hours. Afterwards, remove and clean with warm water, and unscented soap. Proceed with recommended aftercare mentioned above in the first paragraph. Per artist discretion, you may be given two. If you are given two, after the first 24-hours, remove and clean with warm water. Then, apply second adhesive bandage, and you may keep this on up to 4 days max. After, remove and clean with warm water, and proceed with recommended aftercare mentioned above in the first paragraph.
